About The Song
A Rush of Blood to the Head - Coldplay
Coldplay wrote the album A Rush of Blood to the Head immediately following the 9'11 attack. It is very apparent from the lyrics of this song, that they believe war and revenge are not the answer. In our society today, people are rash, moving without thinking and in an effort to avenge; they end up destroying everything that was once dear to them. Hence the title "A Rush of Blood to the Head", which basically conveys one's immediate reactions and feelings, that generally make them respond in an angry and impulsive manner. Throughout history, in event of an unfortunate situation, war has ultimately been the answer for many countries. Buying a gun, shooting "enemies" all because of your fear, anger, and pain will not make you feel better, or even bring back what you lost. War is only meant to destroy . As Coldplay emphasizes, many choose to channel their pain into action by repeating and replicating the acts that caused them anguish. "Oh I'm gonna buy this place and start a fire, Stand here until I fill all your heart's desires, Because I'm gonna buy this place and see it burn, And do back the things they did to you in return"
